Global infrastructure

As a result of acquisitions and organic growth over the last 20 years, traditional mobile network operators are a loosely integrated collection of domestically and predominately consumer-focused services. As users, we experience this through high costs and low service while roaming. As a relative latecomer to the mobile network industry, Truphone has built a centrally controlled, globally distributed network that enables a local service globally.

And that’s not the only thing we do that combines both local and global thinking. Truphone is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) in multiple countries, meaning we can optimise value, connectivity and service on a global basis.

You’re free to roam

We don’t believe in locking users into any one connectivity paradigm. That’s why we use over 200 roaming agreements to provide flexibility around access to networks to achieve the best quality, price, network coverage and technologies.

Our service is highly available because we don’t rely on one provider. If our users lose access to a roaming network, they can quickly enable access to another. Network steering (forcing a subscriber to connect to a preferred network by rejecting the first registration attempts in a non-preferred network) is not used by Truphone—so you’ll automatically connect to the network with the strongest signal, no matter what.

eSIM as a standard

We’re also pioneers of eSIM—the handy piece of tech which does away with the logistical challenge of distributing pieces of plastic all over the world, allowing for a totally digital experience.

Any Truphone subscriber can request an eSIM to be provisioned to a supported device. This means distribution is seamless—you can enable Truphone connectivity at any time over-the-air without having to change SIM cards or even having your device to hand.

Billing made easy

While our network spreads far and wide, our monthly bills don’t have to. Truphone’s agile billing system allows us to create specific rate plans, combinations of services, split bills and aggregation of subscribers in multiple countries—all under the same contract.
