Although large MNOs have a substantial international footprint, each country tends to operate as an independent company, with its own people, processes and technology. In practice, this means that if you purchase an international mobile plan from a local MNO in your home country, you’re not really buying a single service at all. In fact, you’re being re-sold a package of products from multiple different MNOs—often at a significant mark-up.
With this arrangement, it’s not just your budget that suffers. If your employees are working internationally and experience an issue with their service, the chances are that the customer support team in your home country won’t be able to help them.
