Truphone’s SMS recording service seamlessly captures all SMS messages.
SMS messaging has been available for many years. Everyone has access to SMS and this was the go-to solution before the explosion in social messaging platforms. SMS capture for many users was tied to the Blackberry platform. However, since the demise of the trusty Blackberry, other solutions have had to be found to capture SMS messages in order to enable compliant use of this channel.
Truphone Mobile Recording captures SMS messages on any device with no change in behaviour for any of the participants. SMS messages are sent and received as usual and if they need to be captured, they will be captured. They can then be securely stored in the Truphone Cloud service or securely transmitted to your own infrastructure to be stored or journaled alongside your other communication flows. This feature is supported whether home or roaming on any device.

Teams is a great way to collaborate across your business and with external parties. Truphone make this even better when mobile.
We see many of our customers moving towards Teams. Whether for conferencing, internal collaboration or as the replacement for core communications services, it is clear that Teams will be playing a significant part in many of our customer’s enterprise communication strategies. Although Teams is undoubtedly very capable, the user experience on a mobile device can be patchy and inconsistent. This is particularly evident when you are not in range of “enterprise quality” data connectivity. This shortcoming is hampering progress towards truly ubiquitous reach.
In response to this challenge, Truphone turned its attention to the integration of its unique global mobile network directly into Microsoft Teams, effectively creating a mobile ‘endpoint’ on a Teams user account. This removes the Teams applications reliance on data connectivity by allowing it to consume GSM voice connectivity. In so doing, the customer avoids the additional expense and complication of forwarding calls from Teams to a user’s mobile account.
This enables the Teams app to take advantage of GSM voice connectivity and avoids the additional expense and complication of forwarding calls from Teams to a user's mobile account. Taking this approach greatly simplifies the challenge of multi-channel recording.
It enables a Teams user to make and receive calls on their mobile (with their mobile number) or their Teams desktop (with their DDI or IP Address) with all communications registering – from a data capture and regulatory perspective – as just calls. The firm's recording environment and, more importantly, its compliance team neither know nor care.
Truphone is adapting its recording solutions to accommodate Microsoft Teams by integrating the network directly into the platform, removing the reliance on data connectivity by allowing it to consume GSM voice connectivity. Teams users can then use the platform as a seamless extension on the mobile device, with data capture and regulatory measures taken care of.
